Costa Rica
Costa Rica is a magical place. From its multi-colored beaches to its prominent volcano peaks, an amazing variety of wildlife and tropical vegetation flourishes. There's an overabundance of deep tropical greens interspersed with bright tropical flowers, gushing white and brown waterfalls and the most amazing assortment of birds. While it's a place of adventure for tourists, you can't help but be charmed by locals' friendly attitudes and laid back lifestyle.
Visiting in the North American summer is to visit in the Central American rainy season. The rain comes and goes. Sometimes it's just a few passing raindrops ... sometimes it's a soaking downpour. The sun will peak out and reveal a beautiful blue sky for a few hours. Before you know it, it's back to the rain. It doesn't seem to matter much (other than making picture taking a bit harder). Rain or shine, the sounds of the birds and monkeys in the rainforest are constant. It's so nice to just sit, observe and listen to the sounds of the country.
I really fell in love with Costa Rica on this trip. I can't wait to go back and see more of this beautiful country. Pura vida.
